Welcome to the Council of International Schools
The Council of International Schools is the premier organisation in International Education for the accreditation of schools and Best Practice development. CIS is a not-for-profit organisation of a truly worldwide international educational community comprising over 600 member schools and 450 colleges/universities. It has experience of K–12 education in more than 100 countries and many of the Council's Officers and Consultants are former heads of international schools.
The central purpose of CIS is to enable member organisations to achieve and deliver the highest standards in International Education and continually improve the outcome of student learning.
Schools' Services
Helps schools maximise the benefits of belonging to CIS. Includes the International Schools Directory.
Accreditation Service
Sets and develops standards for international education worldwide and manages the accreditation process.
Teacher Recruitment Service
Assists schools in recruiting quality staff, and helps teacher candidates to find rewarding employment.
Leadership/Governance Services
Assists schools in selecting the key players to fill senior positions, while assisting school boards and heads to work together efficiently and constructively.
Higher Education Services
Assists member colleges and universities in recruiting a diverse profile of qualified international students. Includes the HE Directory.
