Engineering beyond the classroom

Throughout Olivet’s more than 100 areas of study, learning doesn’t stop in the traditional classroom. In the university’s ABET-accredited general engineering program – one of only 16 schools in the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities with that distinction — students put their education to use in a variety of ways, whether it’s designing and installing a water purification system in Argentina to give a tribal village clean drinking water, developing lighting and stage technology for student productions, building a Baja car or conducting cutting-edge research.

Program offerings

In addition to a general education program with concentrations in electrical and mechanical engineering, Olivet offers geological engineering and computer engineering programs. Each program leads to a Bachelor of Science degree.

From GM to NASA

Among other places, Olivet’s engineering graduates can be found at Boeing, Northrop Grumman, General Motors, Caterpillar, Whirlpool Corporation, Lockheed Martin, Ford Motor Company, Motorola, Eli Lilly and Company, the U.S. Department of Defense , the Federal Aviation Administration and NASA.
