Love of adventure and a thirst for knowledge drives esteemed Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon Dr. Fernando Burstein. Though he loves a challenge and thrives in problem solving situations, this loving husband and father of two never forgets the most important aspect of medicine – patient care.
After his residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Yale University and a fellowship in Craniofacial Surgery at UCLA, Dr. Burstein’s inquisitive nature and commitment to excellence compelled him to dedicate his career to the mastery of both reconstructive and cosmetic facial surgery.
Subsequently, Dr. Burstein is Double Board Certified in both Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Otolaryngology / Head and Neck Surgery, specializing in Cosmetic and Craniofacial Surgery. Committed to continued education, he is also an Associate Professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Emory University, has authored over 100 articles and book chapters, and is active in all of the leading Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Associations.
Dr. Burstein currently serves as director of the Center for Craniofacial Disorders at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and has over 22 years of experience at Atlanta Plastic Surgery P.C. – making him an expert in the anatomy of the face. He utilizes the same impeccable skill and precision from his reconstructive surgeries to enhance the facial aesthetics of cosmetic patients from all over the country.
As evidenced by his previous surgical cases, Dr. Burstein has perfected his face lift, eye lift, fat grafting, and rhinoplasty techniques – performing his surgeries with a subtlety and naturalness that is hard to come by. He utilizes ground-breaking laser technology and minimally invasive facial rejuvenation techniques to restore a natural looking and more youthful appearance to mature faces; allowing his patients to look as young as they feel.
