The Astoria Dental Group, based in Queens and serving all of New York City, and its dental team of Dr. Clifford Degel and Dr. Carmen Every-Degel make it their mission to deliver state-of-the-art dentistry in a friendly neighborhood setting.
This husband-and-wife team met at Georgetown University Dental School. They are both members of the ADA, AGD, Academy of Aesthetic & Cosmetic Dentistry, New York State Dental Society, Queens Dental Society, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, American Society of Osseointegration, and the American College of Oral Implantology. Their practice is also accredited by the Better Business Bureau.
Both love to golf, scuba dive, play tennis, and travel, especially to the beautiful island of Aruba, where Dr. Every-Degel was born. They are also busy raising their three beautiful young daughters.
The doctors have been practicing dentistry at the Astoria Dental Group since 1990. They love positively changing lives through cosmetic, implant, and restorative dentistry. With new systems like Hybridge Implants and the Mini-Implant System, they are able to help those who believed they wouldn’t be able to have permanent teeth again.
Dr. Degel grew up in Queens, NY. He went to school at Archbishop Molloy High School, followed by St. John’s University. He then went to Georgetown University in Washington DC, where he graduated with a D.D.S. in 1989. Dr. Degel met his wife while studying there. Dr. Degel has been practicing in Astoria, NY since 1990 and has found it to be a great experience. He loves the area and its people. Dentistry is one of the most important things to him. He loves changing people’s lives by changing their smile. He is able to use implants and cosmetics to achieve this. Dr. Degel has been named “America’s Top Dentist” for 2005/2006 by the Consumers Research Council of America and “Best of Astoria 2010” by the United States Commerce Association. He was featured in Vogue’s “Best of the Tri-State” in Dec 2002 and more recently in the December 19th, 2011 issue of Newsweek’s “10 Leaders in Dentistry and Surgery”. He is also one of the featured dentists in TopDoc and was seen in an episode of Fox’s “National Health Front”.
Dr. Carmen Every is originally from Aruba. She came here when she was 19 years old and attended Fairleigh Dickerson University in New Jersey. She went to Georgetown Dental School for her dental degree and met Dr. Degel. After dental school, they came back to New York and established the Astoria Dental Group. Dr. Every was inspired to become a dentist when she was a child, she says probably because she had a lot of dentistry done to her at a very young age. She believes a beautiful smile is very important for one’s self-esteem and she incorporates this belief in what she does. Dr. Every-Degel has been involved with Invisalign over 7 years. She has been chosen as one of the top general dentists for Invisalign® and is a proud member of the American Association of Women Dentists.
