Dr. Jarstad is a renowned Ophthalmologist specializing in Micro-Incision Cataract, LASIK , Implantable Contact Lens (ICL) surgery. He also specializes in the treatment of diseases of the anterior segment of the eye. Dr. Jarstad founded Evergreen Eye Center which has offices in Federal Way, Auburn, Burien, and Enumclaw, Washington. His patients include professional athletes, actors, musicians, international leaders, and corporate executives. His patients come from all over the world whether it's from Alaska, Zimbabwe, Indiana, or Indonesia to receive the latest advances in refractive and cataract surgery.
Dr. Jarstad is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He pioneered the first cataract surgery in Washington performed without stitches. Dr. Jarstad invented the Jarstad Refractive Cataract Surgery Incision Marker (ASICO). He is also the inventor of one of the first injectors for foldable lens insertion.
Dr. Jarstad's research is included in over 50 publications, scientific papers, peer reviewed medical journals, and major lectures. His work is featured at national and international ophthalmology conferences. Dr. Jarstad has held faculty positions at the University of Washington Department of Ophthalmology in Seattle, Washington and at Pacific Northwest University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Yakima, Washington. He is a visiting professor of ophthalmic surgery in Zimbabwe, Indonesia, Egypt, Nigeria and the Philippines.
Dr. Jarstad is certified for the Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) procedure and LASIK. He completed both his medical residency and his internship at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Jarstad has been named one of America’s top ophthalmologists by the Consumer Research Council.
As the founder of Evergreen Eye Center, Dr. Jarstad has achieved his vision of creating a comprehensive, state-of-the-art eye care facility.
