The Neuroscience Institute(TNI) in Cincinnati is a leading treatment, research and teaching center for complex neurological conditions. Based at the University of Cincinnati College of the Medicine, its physicians and researchers have created national models for the treatment and research of complex conditions ranging from ischemic stroke to Parkinson's disease to trigeminal neuralgia to surgical techniques for brain tumors. TNI's team includes more than 85 experts from nine specialty focus areas who collaborate across disciplines to provide the most comprehensive diagnosis and treatment possible.

In 2005, The Neuroscience Institute became the first center in Cincinnati and one of the 140 nationally to be certified as a national Primary Stroke Center by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations(JCAHO). This verifies the center follows nationally recognized best pratices for the treatment of stroke patients, which leads to better outcomes. The center was re-certified in 2007.

TNI is also affiliated with the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky Stroke Team, which serves as a community resource for the rapid diagnosis and treatment of stroke patients. Neurologists at TNI have pioneered advanced treatments in stroke research and treatment nationally as well, including serving as one of the few test centers for the randomized NINDS t-PA Pilot Trial which lead to the FDA approval of this clot-busting drug for the treatment of acute ischemic stroke.

Together with the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky Stroke Team, The Neuroscience Institute is home to The Center for Neurovascular Disease, which gives patients access to a highly skilled team of physicians from a variety of specialty areas who review cases and discuss the merits of various stroke prevention and treatment plans.

TNI's internationally renowned physicians are committed to providing stroke patients with the best diagnosis and treatment options possible. Because putting people back in their lives is what TNI is all about.
