Philosophy
We believe that our children will change, grow, and face the many turning points of life in ways that are different from each other. Because of this, we have created and will maintain an intimate, focused learning environment committed to individually understanding and respecting each child. In essential partnership with our students' families, Turning Point School balances the many dimensions of a student's life in an integrated curriculum that develops not only the intellectual and physical skills, but also the creative, emotional, and social skills critical to success and active involvement in society. Turing Point School's inclusive, nurturing community instills students with a fundamental sense of integrity so they are well prepared to face the unexpected challenges of an increasingly complex world.
Students are immersed in rich learning experiences that foster their innate curiosity and reward their ingenuity. The core curriculum includes reading, language arts, mathematics, and social studies complemented by art, music, Spanish, and science classes. Students are encouraged to embrace challenges as an essential part of growth. Community service is an integral part of many class lessons and projects at all levels. Study tours also instill in students a joy of life-long learning.
