With more than 200 courses, UH Law Center’s LL.M. curriculum is one of the most extensive in the nation. Located in Houston, students will study in the nation’s fourth-largest city, which is also a global leader in healthcare, energy, international business and other disciplines. We offer six outstanding specialties that allow attorneys to match their specific interests and career ambitions.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY & INFORMATION LAW
Intellectual Property and Information Law are combined at the UH Law Center in the Institute for Intellectual Property & Information Law, which is recognized as one of the Top 10 programs in the United States. Students have the opportunity to study both traditional and emerging areas of intellectual property law and information law.
HEALTH LAW
The UH Law Center has one of the nation’s Top 10 health law programs. The Health Law & Policy Institute advances the understanding of health law issues and provides guidance for significant policy decisions affecting every element of health care. The Institute’s faculty governs the LL.M. health law program, which emphasizes interdisciplinary studies in all areas of health law and policy.
ENERGY, ENVIRONMENT & NATURAL RESOURCES
The Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Law curriculum is one of
 the most extensive in the world. We train lawyers to handle the complex legal and policy issues that surround three areas: energy production, transportation, and use; pollution prevention and biodiversity protection; and natural resources exploitation and conservation.
TAX LAW
The Law Center’s LL.M. program in Tax Law provides lawyers with the enhanced practical skills they need to meet the challenge of integrating ongoing changes into their practice. The program helps students identify issues and plan solutions to problems within the tax arena and sharpen the skills needed to assimilate new tax rules in future years.
INTERNATIONAL LAW
The growth of the global marketplace and its
 interdependence among nations places a premium on lawyers who understand the international implications of various public, private, and commercial activities. Our LL.M. students gain an in-depth understanding of international and comparative law and their roles in our domestic legal process.
FOREIGN SCHOLARS
Our Foreign Scholars LL.M. program attracts lawyers from every corner of the globe. A key feature of our Foreign Scholars program is the opportunity to attend classes and collaborate with American J.D. and LL.M. students with a diverse range of backgrounds and interests.
