The Edward de Bono Institute for the Design and Development of Thinking
New International M.Sc. in Strategic Innovation and Future Creation

Are you a young graduate who wishes to continue your education and to improve your managerial skills especially where idea generation, innovation management and planning for the future are concerned? Or are you a mid-career professional who recognises the importance of dealing with uncertain futures and change?

The University of Malta is now accepting applications from students to enrol in an exciting new Masters Program which will start in October 2009. Why not apply for this program now? This is the right time to do so since innovation is the key to success in any organisation. Moreover this year is the EU Year dedicated to Creativity and Innovation.

The International M.Sc. has been specifically designed for individuals who are unable to leave their place of residence or work for lengthy periods of time due to other commitments they may have.

In collaboration with the University of Potsdam (Germany), University of
Teesside (UK) and Turku School of Economics (Finland), the University of Malta has developed this International Joint M.Sc. in Strategic Innovation and Future Creation (see http://www.um.edu.mt/create). The project to design the new M.Sc was partially funded by the European Commission under Erasmus Curriculum Development.

The programme will be delivered by experts from the four European Universities, covering four main subject areas:

  • Creativity and Idea Generation

  • Innovation Management

  • Foresight / Futures Studies

  • Entrepreneurship.
  • The M.Sc. will be delivered mainly by asynchronous e-learning and this offers students a great degree of autonomy and flexibility. The online component will be complemented by four intensive residential seminars of one week each, spread over two years (one week at each of the four Universities). Students will be able to create their own time and space to study. A more detailed course description is available at www.einnform.eu

Applications are now open for students who wish to apply to join this stimulating new International Masters Program which will start in October 2009. The minimum requirement to enrol in this new International M.Sc. is an undergraduate degree in any discipline from the University of Malta or from another recognised university.

If you wish to learn more about the International M.Sc. contact the course coordinator at or by phone on (356) 21 323981.

Maltese citizens may apply for funding from STEPS, see:
