Front Porch is the largest not-for-profit provider of senior living communities in Southern California. It owns and manages award-winning retirement living communities for today’s older adults with a full range of options from independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing and continuing care along with specialized programs like memory support. Front Porch communities represent a leading-edge approach to wellness in aging.
Front Porch is comprised of 11 full-service retirement communities in California and two adult living communities: one in Louisiana, one in Florida and one in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico. Of these, seven are continuing care retirement communities.
Front Porch California retirement communities include: Carlsbad By The Sea in Carlsbad; Casa de Mañana in La Jolla; Claremont Manor in Claremont; Fredericka Manor in Chula Vista; Kingsley Manor in Los Angeles; Sunny View in Cupertino; Villa Gardens in Pasadena; Vista del Monte in Santa Barbara; Walnut Village in Anaheim; and Wesley Palms in San Diego. Front Porch also manages Bethany Towers in Los Angeles.
Front Porch is an innovator in military base re-use. In 1996 and 1998 it opened the adult living communities of England Oaks and Cecil Pines in Alexandria, Louisiana and Jacksonville, Florida, respectively. In 2009, Front Porch opened Luma, an active adult living beachfront retirement community south of the border in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico. Located on the beach of the Bay of Banderas 15 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta Airport, Luma is the first active adult living, resort-style condominium community in Nuevo Vallarta for those 50 years old and over.
Each community embraces the Front Porch Vitality Initiative whereby staff – trained in ethics and customer service – continually work toward ensuring residents enjoy physical, emotional, vocational, spiritual, intellectual, cultural and social wellness. Front Porch supports its communities through its Centers of Excellence such as the Front Porch Center for Technology Innovation and Wellbeing, which develops emerging technologies into adaptive solutions for maintaining health, wellness and independence as people age; the California Lutheran Homes Center for Spirituality and Aging, which works to develop elder ministry programs and trains caregivers at long-term care communities to support residents as they travel upon their human, spiritual journey; and the Front Porch Gallery, which believes the creation of art is a manifestation of the human spirit and the sharing of that art creates community.
Dedicated to enhancing the lives and lifestyles of older adults, Front Porch creates communities that “celebrate the art of the individual.” Each community has a unique style with a broad range of choice and service, offering each resident the opportunity to “live life their way.” Front Porch believes in the importance of developing communities that are economically sound, environmentally responsible and supportive of community spirit.
