Online Program: In UIU's Online Program you will interact with your classmates and the instructor in course discussions, and individual and collaborative assignments. Courses are offered in convenient and effective 8-week terms and are led by supportive and caring faculty members, who combine strong academic qualifications with extensive real-world experience. You do not need to sacrifice academic quality for the convenience of an affordable online program. 24/7/365 technical support is available by toll-free telephone, email, and within the course delivery platform.

Independent Study Program: The program started in 1973 and was one of the first of its kind in the nation. The paper/email based independent study program offers self guided courses, structured around written assignments and proctored exams. The Independent Study Program allows you to advance your education from any location, at any time. Internet access though helpful is not required.

U.S. Education Centers: UIU offers evening and weekend classes at 17 educational centers located in Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana.

Academic Programs of Study: Certificates, Associate of Arts, Bachelor of Science and Masters Programs are available.

Bachelor of Science degree with majors in: accounting, business administration, criminal justice, emergency and disaster management, financial management, health services administration human resources management, human services, information technology, interdisciplinary studies, management, management information systems, marketing, psychology, public administration (fire science, general, or law enforcement emphasis), and social science.

Master of Business Administration degree (MBA) with six areas of emphasis: accounting, corporate financial management, global business, human resources management, organizational development, and quality management.

Master of Higher Education Administration (MHEA) with two areas of emphasis: community and technical college administration and leadership.
