EUROPEAN-AMERICAN UNIVERSITY
EDUCATION BEYOND BOUNDARIES : DISTANCE LEARNING DEGREES

European-American University brings together the best of the European and American educational traditions.

The University delivers its programs through distance education, using highly flexible academic methods anchored firmly in historic and legal precedent. Distance learning programs use the approach of mentored study and require no residency whatsoever. They may be completed by citizens resident anywhere in the world.

Individualized Model of Education

As a private, non-traditional institution the University's outlook is radically different from that of many mainstream universities. Its individualized model of education is based on real-world values that are directly relevant to your life and aspirations, creating a uniquely forward-looking profile within contemporary higher education.

The experienced, mid-career adults who join the EAU family will work with a Mentor to design a program that is directly focussed on their specific needs. They can tailor their chosen assessment methods (including coursework, prior learning assessment, dissertation and project assignments) subject to University approval. There are no minimum or maximum time-limits or other unnecessary restrictions on the demonstration of valid learning experiences. The result is a bespoke degree that fits naturally around your life with minimal disruption.

Business Programs and More

The University offers mentored programs in business and many areas of the humanities. In addition, the University’s unique flexibility permits students to go outside traditional subject confines through interdisciplinary programs and those which are directly related to their expertise. Research programs leading to the degree of PhD are available, again entirely by distance learning, as are routes to the PhD and higher doctorates via published work.

Scholarship and Research at the University

The University is active in promoting scholarship and publishes this via European-American University Press. The University’s Amos Bronson Alcott Center for Educational Research has as its principal interest independent higher education. The Libertarian Library Online Project has begun by collecting together many online resources on the study of liberty.

In theology, the Arnold Harris Mathew Center for the Study of the Independent Sacramental Movement is the first university center anywhere in the world to be devoted to the study of the ISM. In music, the Henselt Library makes available over 2,000 rare scores of nineteenth-century piano music online, and compliments Romantic Discoveries Recordings, an associated research center devoted to issuing first recordings on CD of this neglected repertoire.

Private and independent institution

European-American University is a fully private institution and a genuine alternative to traditional universities. The University grants degrees by virtue of historic common law precedent deriving from its incorporation. It is not under the control or funding of any government ministry of education and is not accredited by any external body, nor plans to seek such accreditation.

EAU is truly “By the Private Sector – For the Private Sector”, and offers an unique opportunity for forward-thinking professionals and independent scholars committed to a demanding and highly rewarding educational pathway.
