University of Miami - School of Business

Thinking Beyond the Horizon
At the University of Miami, MBA students benefit from an internationally recognized faculty, a multinational student body, and first-class facilities all found in one of the most diverse cities on the globe. This incomparable combination creates a unique learning environment. Curriculum takes on a global perspective as students learn to think outside of themselves and their immediate environment. Classmates bring view points from around the world, and horizons are broadened in a truly “world class” MBA Program. Our unique location in the midst of one of the most dynamic areas of international business growth in the Western Hemisphere will contribute significantly to your knowledge of the global workplace.

The School of Business Administration was established in 1929, and the Master of Business Administration degree was first offered in 1948. In 1957, the school was accredited by AACSB International-The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. In 2003 the School of Business received unconditional recertification guaranteeing educational excellence.

Inspiration and Vision Create Opportunity
The University of Miami recently completed a $24 million award-winning facility for the exclusive use of graduate business students. Amphitheater-style classrooms encourage interaction, allowing students to learn not only from their professors but also from each other. Students collaborate with peers to analyze problems and formulate strategies. New theories are formed and tested under expert tutelage, and each day brings new opportunities to succeed and learn. The recipient of a $3 million endowment, the Judi Prokop Newman Business Information Center functions as a “virtual library” featuring the latest and most sophisticated tools in research technology.

Award-Winning Faculty Leaders
UM professors are specialists in the fields of accounting, economics, finance, information systems, law, management, management science, marketing, and political science. Faculty members are widely published and have held prominent positions in business, industry and government agencies. UM faculty members serve as consultants to Fortune 500 companies and international corporations - in the Americas and around the world. With UM faculty at the helm, classrooms become engines for growth, where new skills are developed and tested under the guidance of accomplished business leaders.

Executive Collaboration
The School of Business Mentor Program is designed to enhance the classroom experience and facilitate the student’s transition into the workplace. The Mentor Program strives to match the student applicant with a business representative working in the student’s area of career interest. Through this interaction, students gain an understanding of corporate culture, and career directions while enhancing the educational process as they become the next generation of business leaders.

Career Services
The Ziff Graduate Career Services Center is exclusively dedicated to helping graduate business students find employment opportunities, obtain internships, and prepare to compete for top positions in industry. The Center provides students with unique and diverse networking opportunities with companies and alumni around the world. Workshops help students leverage the Internet and other forms of new media to research employment trends, and opportunities, and improve their own marketing skills.

The University of Miami enjoys a well-deserved reputation for academic excellence, both for the quality of its students and its renowned faculty. Through an innovative program, we meet the academic challenges of a diverse student population representing all 50 states and more than 100 nations around the globe.
