Southbank International School

Southbank International School has over 21 years' experience teaching the International Baccalaureate Diploma, and its students. It was one of the first schools in the UK to adopt all three IB curricula from pre-school to university entrance, and it is proud of its truly international approach which is reflected in its student body consisting of nearly 60 nationalities.

While the school has expanded considerably in the past few years, the Southbank schools are all located in central London. In spite of its growth, Southbank has been careful to maintain a friendly and intimate atmosphere with each school building housing between 200-270 students.

Southbank International School is expanding further in September 2007. An annex will be added to Southbank Westminster which will be the new home to the IB Diploma students (ages 16-18). The annex will be based a few minutes' walk from Southbank Westminster and will be known as Southbank Westminster Fitzrovia.

Southbank Westminster Fitzrovia is located in a quiet street just off Fitzroy Square, which is only a few minutes from Great Portland Street and Regent's Park tube stations. It is a light, modern building and will have a dedicated library and IT centre for the Diploma students, a biology laboratory and a suite of language classrooms. Chemistry and physics students will use the facilities at Southbank Westminster Portland Place.

Southbank Hampstead will move its middle year students in grades 6-8 to Southbank Westminster Portland Place next academic year. This means that Southbank Hampstead will become a primary school with two sections at every grade level except for EC3 (three year olds) and grade 5. Contact the admissions department for details on spaces available throughout the school.

From September 2007 Southbank International School will consist of:

Southbank Hampstead (ages 3-11)
Southbank Kensington (ages 3-11)
Southbank Westminster Portland Place (ages 11-16)
Southbank Westminster Fitzrovia (ages 16-18)

In order to meet the demand for spaces in the IB Diploma, an additional IB Diploma Information Session will be held at Southbank Westminster Portland Place on 25 January, from 1600-1730. RSVP to admissions on 020 7243 3803 or email Additional information on Southbank International School can be found on its website www.southbank.org

Further Information Mornings will be held in March 2007, but you can visit the school anytime simply by contacting admissions.

Southbank has an open admissions policy, taking in children throughout the year. It has a strong EAL (English as an Additional Language) Department, where children who need tuition in the English language receive intensive tutoring. Southbank also has a large mother tongue programme: currently it is teaching some 16 different languages at mother tongue level. Students who graduate from Southbank nearly always go on to their first choice university, whether it be in the UK, Europe, US or in their home country.
