International mindedness. This quality in our students results from the inner transformation they experience as a result of our research-based international curriculum, programmes, and learning environment. YCIS Shanghai's unique educational philosophy, which involves a co-principal and co-teaching system, integrates the best elements of both Eastern and Western cultures and provides a nurturing environment in which students receive instruction in English by qualified, experienced and seasoned Western teachers. Our comprehensive Chinese language and culture instruction along with the school's international student community together foster this transformation that empowers them to emerge from the school as bilingual and global citizens. Several decades ago Yew Chung pioneered and has since developed an Early Childhood Education programme for students 1 to 4 years old. Our international curriculum for Years 1 to 9 is based on the National Curriculum for England. In Years 10 and 11 we offer the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) programme and for Years 12 and 13, the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. With over 1500 students and 45 nationalities represented in our student body, YCIS Shanghai, an IB World School, has three growing campuses located in prime locations in Hong Qiao, Gubei and Pudong to serve the expatriate community in Shanghai.
