Shanghai Community International Schools - China

Shanghai Community International Schools opened in 1996 with 24 students. Just ten years later, SCIS is educating more than 1,100 students from Preschool through Grade 12 on four China campuses. Head of School and Shanghai veteran Mike Williams remarked, "Shanghai's dynamic growth as an international business destination has given SCIS the opportunity to attract outstanding students from 42 countries."

Committed to providing students with opportunities to pursue academic and personal excellence in a nurturing, small school environment, Williams and his top-tier international faculty strive to maintain harmony between big city and small classes. To that end, SCIS students are engaged in a personalized, hands-on, American-based curriculum, which encourages high level thinking. In addition to academics, SCIS is known for its active community of families and a school spirit second to none. SCIS is the first international school in Shanghai to earn accreditation from both the U.S. and the Chinese Ministry of Education.
