Cempaka International School, Malaysia

Cempaka School was founded in 1983 and presently comprises three schools and an A-Levels College spread over two campuses in Damansara Heights and Cheras. Students range from age 4 (Reception) to 18 (A-Levels). The latest addition to the Cempaka Group of Schools is Cempaka Ladies' College, which opens its doors in 2008. This will be the first private residential secondary girls' school in Malaysia.

The Cempaka education is based on the development of the mind, body and soul. Through rigorous mental stimulation, physical challenges and appreciation of the arts, a child can blossom into a scholar, sportsman and gentleman.

Mind

The mind is the driving force that powers the body and nourishes the soul. Cempaka provides a suitable learning environment with the latest in education technology. Fully-wireless internet access enables learning both in and out of the classroom. Fully equipped IT laboratories further a child's education in the hi-tech age of the 21st century.

Intellectual curiosity and the free expression of ideas are vital ingredients in a child's education. In Cempaka, children are encouraged to be independent and think for themselves.

Each year, Cempakans gain entry to First Tier universities abroad, including Cambridge, Oxford, Edinburgh, Yale, Harvard and Stanford.

Body

A Cempaka education rests on the recognition that a healthy mind should go with a healthy body. An extensive range of sports is offered, including soccer, water polo, badminton, table tennis, swimming, synchronized swimming, netball, fencing, archery, rugby, basketball, volleyball, wall-climbing and handball.

Soul

The Performing Arts completes the Cempaka education. Theatre productions allow students the opportunity to showcase their talent. Whether as actors, dancers, singers or as a pianist (on the grand piano), on the string section, the wind section, or as a part of the production crew taking care of the lights, sound, or props behind the scenes.

Through charity drives for victims of natural disasters as well as hospital visits to children's wards, students discover the need to empathize with the less fortunate, acknowledge the needs of the deprived, lend a hand to the disadvantaged and learn the true meaning of being a Cempakan.

Cempaka Ladies' College

Opening its doors in 2008 is the fifth Cempaka School, the Cempaka Ladies' College, which will be the first all-girls' boarding secondary school in Malaysia. The 35-acre campus will be one of the premier girls' schools in the region, catering to students from both Malaysia and abroad.

Cempaka Ladies' College will inherit 23 years of Cempaka tradition of education, one that focuses on academic rigour, a wide range of sporting activities and the fine arts which include music, theatre and dance. It will run the British IGCSE Curriculum with an estimated total enrolment of 560 ladies from Year 7 to A-Levels.

At Cempaka Ladies' College, girls will be prepared to succeed in the real world as they are challenged and nurtured by a learning environment that encourage them to take risks without fear of embaressment, take on leadership roles, work with team-mates and groomed to be a confident and poised, accomplished lady.

Overlooking a lake, the Ladies' College will be set in the tranquil surroundings of "@enstek", a town development located strategically ten minutes from Kuala Lumpur International Airport and adjacent to the Sepang International Formula One Circuit. The location is far enough from the hustle and bustle of the city to provide a conducive and wholesome environment for learning and community living, and at the same time, within easy reach of the city centre via rail (Express Rail Link to KL Sentral) and road.

Co-curricular facilities will range from studios for performing and visual arts; from tennis courts and swimming pool to a horse-riding school and archery range.
