Our Program
The Susan B. Krevoy Eating Disorders Program is a low fee, out-patient, non-profit treatment program for individuals that suffer from eating disorders including anorexia, bulimia, compulsive overeating and exercise addiction. The program brings together skilled and compassionate treatment professionals with clients in a safe, nurturing environment that promotes healing.
The SBK EDP offers a multifaceted treatment approach to identify the real problems underlying the eating disorder. The initial assessment will include how the disordered eating pattern fits into the person's life and what purpose(s) it is serving for that person.
Individually structured treatment plans will include individual, family and group psychotherapy (to identify the underlying issues), nutritional groups (to differentiate between physical and psychological hunger), and mind-body groups (to learn a healthier way to balance intake/output). The program offers workshops on body image, societal pressures, interpersonal relationship issues, awareness of the distorted eating pattern and the role food plays in one's life, and developing self esteem.
The program is affiliated with: Clinical Psychologists, Marriage Counselors, Registered Dieticians, Certified Art Therapists, Certified Clinical Hypnotherapists, Psychiatrists, and Post Doctoral Fellows and Interns training at WILA.
Dr. Susan B. Krevoy is a licensed clinical psychologist and certified psychoanalyst specializing in the area of eating disorders. She has been in private practice in Beverly Hills for over 20 years. She received her doctorate from UCLA, post -doctoral training from the Wright Institute Los Angeles and UCLA and certification as a psychoanalyst from the Los Angeles Institute and Society for Psychoanalytic Studies (LAISPS).
Dr. Krevoy, who had devoted her private practice to the treatment of eating disorders for over twenty years, founded this program as a culmination of a dream. She hoped to answer the call of the growing number of people who have struggled alone with an eating disorder, who were unable to find affordable treatment options that were flexible enough to allow time to meet family, work and school obligations.
We accept most insurance plans and offer a sliding-fee scale based on your ability to pay. We offer a safe, nurturing environment where you can heal.
